Selecting fixtures and fittings
Once I was happy with the style and layout of the bathroom and had created a mood board with all my inspiration it was time to look for business’ that could supply the eg. Tiles, bath, tap wear that I was wanting. This step is crucial in finding suppliers that you love but also finding a competitive pricing point to help stick to your budget and not blow out on costs. A few suppliers that we routinely use and find their price points reasonable are;
Bathroom sales direct (online store)

ABI interiors (online store)
Handle house (online store)

Contemporary stone surfaces (Ballarat based)

Elegance tiles Ballarat (Ballarat based store)

Beaumont tiles Ballarat (Ballarat based store)

Something I find really helpful is to figure out what you like then research, research, research where you can buy the exact product from eg. Bathroom sales direct. Then find other sites that also sell the product to compare and choose based on price, customer service and ease of purchase (warranty etc). This step took us a lot of time and effort! So, buckle in and whip out all your spreadsheets/product books and multiple internet browsing tabs (I have created and attached a FREE checklist of all the fixtures and fittings you need to choose and purchase when renovating a bathroom)- thank us later!
For our bathroom renovation we found Bathroom Sales Direct the most competitive for price and their customer service via email was exceptional. We have personally bought from these guys before and have been very satisfied with their products and they offer very good warranty on all their products (not affiliated at all- just a happy full paying wife and husband). They also stock all of your major brands such as Fienza, Modern national, ADP, Ovia, Oliveri to name a few.
A few tips we have found if you are purchasing your fixtures and fittings (sometimes your builder in collaboration with you can purchase all your fixtures and fittings and include this in your final bill).
Ensure you have purchased all fixtures and fittings with ample time for them to arrive for your tradies to fit off when required at each stage
Ask your suppliers on estimated timing if ordering in eg. Tiles (some tiles are made to order! Don’t be caught out like us and have to wait for your tiles to be made and delivered!)
Wait for your tap wear if purchasing online to arrive and take it with you to the lighting store to match the tap wear to your feature lighting. A lot of the time brushed brass in differing brands and products are completely different and this will be evident when they are all in the one room!
